eLogic Group Signs Partnership with Cincom Systems

eLogic has signed a partnership agreement with worldwide software provider, Cincom Systems, to resell and provide consulting services for Cincom's Sales Configurator™ for use with SAP® in the United States beginning immediately. The Cincom Sales Configurator captures the product, services, and business knowledge needed for guided selling, complex product configuration, and proposal management.

"Given our expertise in SAP's Variant Configurator, as well as related SAP functionality for dynamic products, Cincom's configuration technology is a great addition to our technology and services portfolio," says Mike Shields, President and CEO, eLogic Group. "By being able to offer configure-to-order and engineer-to-order manufacturers a sales configuration technology uniquely designed for them and fully compatible with their existing SAP infrastructure, we're able to better assist them in achieving results quickly and efficiently."

The need for process improvement is strong. According to a survey conducted earlier this year by Cincom Systems, only 67 percent of build-to-order and engineer-to-order manufacturers know how much it costs to produce customized products, and 73 percent don't know the cost of engineering change orders. Despite the lack of cost information, more than half of the survey respondents believed that they had the ability to charge a 10 percent or higher premium with a product customization strategy.

Cincom's Sales Configurator for use with SAP shares its customer and quotation data with the SAP system and feeds configured sales orders directly into the SAP Order Management and SAP Variant Configurator modules. It's specifically designed to assist complex manufacturers — such as those specializing in engineer-to-order, make-to-order, or configure-to-order manufacturing — with the most complex product configurations and proposals.

This sales and product configuration technology also offers a significant cost savings to manufacturing organizations using SAP, reducing the "quote-to-cash" cycle exponentially. In fact, the Cincom Sales Configurator cut the proposal time for one customer from three to five days to just 15 minutes.
